The Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCA) has launched the new SCA Skills Diploma, further recognizing professional skills in the coffee industry and providing in-depth knowledge and practical experience to help students quickly adapt to the job market. The four new diplomas include the SCA Café Diploma, SCA Roastery Diploma, SCA Sustainable Coffee Diploma, and SCA Coffee Trade Diploma, each requiring completion of designated courses from seven disciplines.

 SCA Sensory Skills Foundation - Original Price HKD$2280 (Group Class Schedule Link)

Since April 2024, SCA has upgraded to the new Sensory Skills v3.0. After a comprehensive update, the course will include coffee value assessment protocols and corresponding tools, focusing on the key concepts of sensory science, and combining cupping, CVA protocols, SCA descriptions and emotional cupping tables to provide students with a more comprehensive and in-depth learning experience.

🌈 Foundation Course Content

The Sensory Foundation course explores the essential sensory elements for evaluating coffee through hands-on and interactive methods. The course delves into how we perceive taste and teaches participants how to apply this knowledge to assess coffee characteristics. Participants will have the opportunity to identify various sensory attributes through practical experience and learn to use both descriptive and affective cupping assessment methods (SCA). This will provide participants with a rich learning experience, enabling them to conduct coffee evaluations with greater confidence.

SCA Roasting is an essential course for students planning a future career in coffee roasting. The course teaches in-depth knowledge of the roasting process, core roasting techniques and equipment, and how to differentiate flavor profiles based on different roast levels.
